Skincare (and self-care) is very important to me. So important in fact, that it’s one of the few areas where I am less than my normal budget conscious self. I don’t mind spending a little bit extra if it’s going to look after my skin. I mean, I love chippy and antique, but only in old houses and furniture!
That being said, if you caught my IGTV a few weeks ago, you would know that I have been testing out some of the new products from the Environ FocusCare range, which were sent to me by Rubybox. Well, I’m done with my testing and I’m ready to give you my honest feedback!
A bit about me
Before we continue with the review, I’m guessing that you are going to need to know a bit about me. So, here goes:
- My skin is 37 years young. So I guess that makes me 37!
- I have classic combination skin: more oily on the T-zone and dry on the cheeks. I’m finding that the dryness is getting worse the older I get. It irritates the hell out of me, especially since I’m not used to it. My skin has always been more oily than dry.
- I have redness that bugs me, which I usually cover with a bit of BB cream or foundation.
- My crows feet are starting to become more pronounced. I’m starting to see more (makeup) product settle in the creases when I’m not careful.
- I’m not pregnant or lactating, so I didn’t have to take that into consideration. If you are, please consult your trained Environ consultant before trying any of these products.
Environ FocusCare Youth+ Range: Tri BioBotanical Revival Masque
Right. This one was a clear winner for me. Dubbed “Facelift in a Jar”, it really worked to firm up and smooth out my skin. And I was glowing. Glow-ing!! Seriously, one of the best masques I have ever tried.
It is quite a potent masque, the first time I used it my face started to tingle and I got a bit panicked! There was however no need to worry, it all worked out. Also, because of the AHA included, you need to be careful of the sun. So wear your sunscreen, nothing less than a 50 SPF and stay out of the sun! You should be doing this anyway, no need for me to tell you 😉
This product is actually recommended for autumn and winter, though the website does say it may be used year round. Provided you are careful of the sun of course. For more information, click here. Also, please consult with your trained Environ consultant.

Environ FocusCare Youth+ Range: Tri-Peptide Complex+ Avance Elixir
A serum is such an important addition to your skincare routine. I have used one for a long time and I can’t imagine going back to a time where I haven’t used one. That being said, this one took a while for me to decide on. In fact, up until a few days ago, I was feeling that it wasn’t making much difference at all.
It felt a bit ridged (for lack of a better word) when I put it on. In other words, it doesn’t go on smoothly for me. I really don’t know how else to describe it. My skin felt a little tacky after it was applied, which was an odd sensation for me.
But then, all of a sudden, something clicked and all of a sudden my skin felt renewed. Brand new. Radiant.
I’m so glad that I gave this product the full 4 weeks before making my final decision, because it was worth it!

Environ FocusCare Moisture+ Range: Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules
We have another winner! These capsules were awesome. They are almost finished and it’s very upsetting 🙁 I need to get some more! I used these on the nights that I used my masque. My face felt so nourished and taken care of! The best part? It didn’t make my oily patches worse and it hydrated the dry patches beautifully. In fact, my T-zone wasn’t oily at all! I was very impressed!
Recommended Retail Price: R 730.00 for 30 capsules*
Time for a side by side before and after:
So, where do I get these awesome products?
Environ is available at reputable salons countrywide. A good place to look for it would be at your local Sorbet salon – they stock a good selection and they offer Environ facials to boot!
Alternatively, there are a whole host of good, independent salons that also have trained, knowledgeable staff that stock Environ products (and do Environ facials). To find the one nearest to you, just check out the “find a stockist” tab on the Environ website. I’ve added it here for ease of reference!
I hope that you have enjoyed this little skincare journey with me and that you have found this post helpful. I also hope that you remember to take time for yourself every day, even if that does just mean removing your makeup and giving your skin a bit of a treat in the evenings. Remember, we can’t pour from an empty cup – you need to take care of yourself too!
If you have any questions, or want to know anything about the products, please leave me a comment or contact me through this link. I will help you out any way I can.
I look forward to hearing from you!
